Due to the pandemic impact on staffing, the Office of Vital Records will close the call center (804-662-6200) in order to redirect available staff to the continuation of certifying vital events and processing applications for vital records. Customers are encouraged to use the Contact Us page on our website to communicate with us. Please note that there may be extended response times due to increased volume. You can check the status of your existing request if you have an Application Tracking ID here. Answers to frequently asked questions are here.
